I love the beginning of each New Year! At this time
there is a desire to accomplish new goals, receive fresh vision and renewed
hope of things to come. It seems as if the Lord gives us a blank page
so we can start all over again. What we really sense at the beginning
of the year is a time of change.
we started this year, the Lord spoke to me that He is bringing forth
a great change. In January, we saw a change in the leadership of our
country. Change of leadership is occurring in many nations of the world.
These changes give us a picture of what the Lord is doing in the Spirit.
has a Davidic Company arising in the earth. This company of people can
be likened to the people who God transitioned during the leadership
change in Israel from Saul to David. Israel had demanded a king so they
could be like the other nations of the world. God allowed them to have
what they wanted by giving them Saul. Saul represents a traditional
man-made system that serves its own interests.
God allows us to have what we want rather than what He wants for us.
However, God will not allow man's choice to rule forever. God allowed
those who followed Saul to become thoroughly discontented so they would
desire a change in leadership. He would have His man on the throne.
was God's choice for the throne. The Davidic company gives a picture
of those people who advance the Kingdom of God until they see the fulfillment
of Revelation 11:15. Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were
loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever
and ever" (Rev. 11:15).
A Davidic Company in the earth will never stop until
they see Jesus declared King by every tribe, nation and tongue!
This Davidic Company has a heavenly mandate that causes them to press
through every obstacle and overcome every hindrance. They are risk
takers who know no defeat. It does not matter how many times they are
knocked down. They get up more determined than ever to finish their
course. They are absolutely unstoppable in their pursuit for God's glory!
One of the aspects of this Davidic mandate is the discipling of the
nations (Matt. 28:18-20). David did not stop until all of Israel was
under his rule. We must move forward until we see all nations under
the Lordship of Jesus. I will set a sign among them and will send
survivors from them to the nations: Tarshish, Put, Lud, Meshech, Rosh,
Tubal and Javan, to the distant coastlands that have neither heard My
fame nor seen My glory. And they will declare My glory among the nations
For this to occur, time, energy, effort, and finances will be required. We
are in a season when God is going to release the resources needed to
accomplish the task. He called us to do beyond what we are naturally
capable of doing. Therefore, we need a new level of faith to be successful
in this new season.
The next aspect of the mandate for this company of believers is a
willingness to engage in spiritual battles. Too many intercessors
have retreated from battle due to fear. The enemy has convinced them
that if they will leave him alone, he will leave them alone. The Bible
tells us he is the "father of lies" (Jn. 8:44). We must agree with God
and not with Satan. Millions of people are living in darkness and on
their way to an endless hell. The Church is God's agent to bring deliverance
and restoration in the earth. As David followed in obedience to the
Lord, he came to a place of breakthrough (2 Sam. 5:20). God defeated
His enemies. David declared God to be Baal-perazim - God of the breakthrough.
In this season, we are going to see God defeat enemies that have followed
us for many years. Begin to declare that Jesus is "God of the Breakthrough"
in your life.
The third aspect of the Davidic mandate is a new level of prayer.
We are able to intercede with forms of prayer we did not understand
a decade ago. I remember praying during the '80's for keys to unlock
cities, forgiveness for sins of former generations and prophetic strategy
for miracles. At the time I prayed these prayers my mind did not understand
what my spirit was asking for. So many times we pray from our spirit.
It takes time before our understanding has the revelation of what we
are asking for. Today, we have terms that identify the type prayers
we are praying. Seminars are held, books are written, and classes taught
that help bring us into new levels of intercession. Therefore, we can
now pray more effective prayers for the purpose of seeing lost souls
come under the Lordship of Jesus. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions
with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert
and always keep on praying for all saints (Eph. 6:18) NIV. New levels
of intercession will change the spiritual climate over entire territories
and nations. Hearts will be ready to receive the Gospel of Jesus.
Intercession and worship are going to mingle together at a new level.
Powerful worship will be a weapon of warfare that releases strategy
and defeats the enemy. Worshipping warriors will sing on earth the song
they are hearing sung in heaven (1 Sam. 10:5). The new song will break
the powers of darkness and release a great harvest of souls. And
they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are You to take the book and to
break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your
blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. You have
made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign
upon the earth" (Rev. 5:9-10). David always had a heart for God's
glory. As a young shepherd boy, he worshipped the Lord on the hillside.
As a young man, he stood in the face of Goliath and dared him defy the
armies of the living God (1 Sam. 17). David killed Goliath for the sake
of God's glory. Years later, as king, his pursuit was to see the Ark
of God and the glory of God returned to Israel.
How do we enlist as part of this Davidic Company?
First, ask God to give you a heart for seeing His Kingdom advance in
the earth. Too many believers are only concerned about their own interests
rather than the interests of the Lord. Next, ask the Lord to deliver
you from fear. Fear will keep you from fulfilling your destiny. It will
cause you to live a life of defeat and torment. Then, find other intercessors
with the same heart and purpose. Connect with those who have the same
vision. We need to have the right connections if we are going to fulfill
our destiny. Finally - pray, pray, pray. Trust the Lord to bring you
to a new level of intercession. You will be amazed at how able the Holy
Spirit is to teach you! Let Him put a new passion in you for the Lord.
God has a Davidic Company today that has a passionate heart to see God's
glory cover the earth. There is more of a momentum today for accomplishing
this task than ever before in history. We must fulfill our mandate and
"declare his glory among the nations" (Isa. 66:19).
