A CALL TO WORSHIP

A call has gone forth.
It is a call to the bride to worship!

God is raising up a worshiping bride. A bride who not only gives Him praise from her lips, but also gives Him praise from her heart. A bride who desires to be lost in the love of His presence.

This worship is bringing life back into the body of Christ. It is restoring joy to His people. It is restoring our love to the Father. It is bringing deliverance, and it is bringing liberty.

Tabrets, flags, praise hoops, streamers, etc. are all physical adornments that symbolize the spiritual. Our whole purpose in using them is to minister to the Lord. They are used as instruments of praise, worship, warfare and intercession.

Many people consider these instruments of praise to be a new form of worship, when in fact they are only new to us. They are mentioned throughout the Old Testament, and really have just been re-discovered. God is restoring these to His bride. Isaiah 61:10 talks about the bride adorning herself with jewels. These are adornments for the bride to use.

These instruments are only symbolic, but we can hold them in our hands and physically wave them to express our love and gratitude to Christ our Saviour. When Jesus entered Jerusalem the people waved palm branches as an expression of their love, victory, and freedom. Today, we are waving our flags and tabrets as an expression of our love, victory, and freedom. We are waving our symbolic "palm branches" to welcome our soon returning King.

This is visual worship. You don't need words to understand this worship. They are symbols that transcend language and racial barriers. People of different languages and backrounds understand that you are praising the Lord. The Holy Spirit can use these visual expressions to reach out and penetrate a hard heart. Just as more traditional forms of praise and worship prepare the atmosphere and soften the heart to receive the word of God, this too is anointed to do the same.

This visual worship is a form of communication. We use these instruments of praise to proclaim who God is to us. They can represent a name, a character trait, or an attribute of God that we are lifting up. Be aware that it is not only communicated to God, but also to others who may be around us.

The call has gone forth. Now we need to ask ourselves - will we accept the call, or will we follow the path of least resistance? The path of least resistance is to do nothing. It is the easy path - the one most traveled.

Time after time, we pray for God to use us; but then we won't obey Him when He desires to work through us. We gasp and say, "Oh Lord, I can't do that". God knows our strengths and He knows our weaknesses. He also knows what we are capable of doing with the help of the Holy Spirit. Remember, He will not use us in big things if we never obey Him in the small stuff.
